Hey, itβs Tony from LearnAutoBodyAndPaint with another Q&A series video.
Todayβs question came from Bob Ziff.
βTony, what is the best primer and filler to use on fiberglass bodies?β
Letβs start with the filler. If youβre using filler just to clean up waves or ripples in your body work, I would go with a regular filler, which is something like RageGold, RageUltra, Z-Grip or Evercoat Lite Weight ( itβs cheaper ). Any of these depending on your preference and budget.
They say the more expensive stuff is prone to less pin holes. Iβve had a really good experience with Z-Grip. I would use this for basic shaping, making sure body panels are nice and flash.
Kitty Hair is another good stuff. The Evercoat Kitty Hair Long Strand Fiberglass Reinforced Body Filler. This is good stuff too.
Another excellent primer is the Tamco and theyβve been in the market for quite some time now. Check out Zoolaa and Tamco HP-5310 D.T.M. High Build Grey Primer, which costs $121.95
Their products are in the high-end market and they are just just as good, if not better than the products in the high-end range. It is available in grey, black or white. I personally prefer grey.
