Question: I’m painting my bike again. Is there any difference between 2K candy paint and base coat mid coat candy?

I think you’re talking about concentrate candy, are you? If so, the process is pretty much the same.

You have to lay a urethane candy and then your clear coat on top. If you’re doing concentrate candy, it’s going to be midcoat anyway, so you’ll have a silver base coat and then put your concentrate and lastly your clear coat. As I said, it’s pretty much the same thing.

Question: Have you painted a car using a turbine?

Not yet, but it’s something I want to do in the future and most probably when I get my new property here in Hawaii.

Question: What paint do you recommend for my 36 Chevy Panel Truck? A solid color or metallic 2-stage?

I would definitely recommend a 2-stage base coat clear coat because you can do a lot with it. You don’t have a lot of room for customization for single-stage.

On the other hand, if you use base coat clear coat, you can add pearl, flake or candy. Whatever you want to do.

As far as metallic or solid – just go with what you feel. Go with your gut feel or whatever you think is cool. 😉

Question: What do you recommend as far as paint? The original color is white. I want to go with the dark blue color.

A while back, I fell in love with a color called Spectra Blue. Check that out. It’s a dark blue color which is so gorgeous. I don’t know the color code at the top of my head but you definitely need to check that one out.

I painted my ‘67 Camaro with that color as well as a Mercedes that I had a while back. It’s a rich dark blue color which looks amazing.

We rescued her at the pound about 10 days ago. It’s a Chihuahua and she’s 6 months old. I never liked small dogs until I saw her. She’s super nice.

I’m just hooking up with my old friends with body shops here in Hawaii and getting back in the game.

I don’t have a shop here yet but I’m going to be doing some body work in my friend’s shop soon. My friend will be getting a blow-up spray booth and I’ll be recording a lot of stuff and sharing it with you guys. It will be amazing!

I’m sorry about some of the questions that I haven’t answered because it’s difficult to just read the questions without giving me pictures of your project.
